He said that coconut oil is the best remedy and found an organic coconut oil bottle at his mother’s house. He gave it to Anaya, who applied the oil generously to her face. Later, we realized that the bottle was actually used by my husband’s sister to polish furniture and contained a large amount of chemicals. The chemicals reacted badly, and my daughter’s face became swollen and bruised. We rushed her to the hospital, where she was given drips and steroids because the chemicals had been absorbed through her skin into her body.”
