Veteran actor Noman Ijaz sparked conversation online by declaring he never wears makeup for his roles, unlike some contemporaries.
On a YouTube podcast, he shared, "I have never worn makeup in my entire life. I tell them, 'I'm not Faysal Qureshi or Humayun Saeed. I don't need it.'"
He stressed that his priority is the character, not his look. "I am not selling this [appearance]. I am selling the character I am playing," Ijaz stated. His preparation is famously simple: a damp, inexpensive towel pressed to his face.
The comments drew mixed reactions on social media. While some praised his talent, others felt the comparison was unnecessary, and many joked about which actors he did—or didn't—name.
Noman Ijaz is renowned for powerful performances in dramas like Sang-e-Mah, Raqeeb Se, and Dar Si Jaati Hai Sila. He most recently starred in Parwarish. He is celebrated for his powerful performances in a range of genres, from intense dramas and thrillers like "Majajan" and "Khuda Kay Liye" to beloved comedic and action roles, including the classic "Maula Jatt."
