Zain Hamid confirms separation from Nimra Khan
UK-based pilot Zain Hamid has confirmed his divorce from Pakistani actor Nimra Khan, months after their marriage and amid separation rumours on social media.
Nimra Khan married Zain Hamid in May 2026. However, reports of differences between the couple and speculation about their separation had been circulating on social media for some time.
At the time, Nimra had denied the reports, saying that her married life was going well. She had also removed her wedding pictures from social media, citing concerns about the evil eye.
Zain Hamid has now confirmed the divorce in a statement posted on Instagram. He said he divorced Nimra Khan on July 17, attributing the decision to irreconcilable personal differences and differences in priorities.
He said he did not want to blame anyone for the separation, adding that legal proceedings had also been initiated and the matter had been handed over to lawyers.
Zain further said the separation was mutually agreed upon and that such circumstances were equally difficult for both men and women. He also expressed his best wishes for Nimra Khan.
Nimra Khan’s marriage to Zain Hamid was her second. She had previously married Raja Iftikhar in 2020, but the marriage ended a few months later.

Pakistani celebrities unite for Mir Raza Ali, demand justice
A growing number of Pakistani celebrities have spoken out in support of Mir Raza Ali’s family, urging authorities to ensure justice for the 25-year-old entrepreneur whose death in Karachi has drawn renewed scrutiny following developments in the investigation.
Ali, the owner of Wafflix, was allegedly kidnapped from the PECHS area before his body was found in bushes near a wedding hall in Gulistan-e-Johar on July 29. A second post-mortem strengthened the family’s longstanding position that Ali was murdered.
The case has also attracted growing attention from public figures, with celebrities using social media to express grief, question aspects of the investigation and call for accountability.
Actor Mahira Khan expressed support for lawyer and activist Jibran Nasir, who is representing Ali’s family and has been calling for a fresh investigation.
She indicated that she would support efforts to demand justice, including joining public demonstrations if necessary. “Well done Jibran Nasir. We will all come out on the streets for this,” she wrote.
Television host and doctor Shaista Lodhi also shared an emotional reaction to Ali’s death, focusing on the grief experienced by his family.
“Can’t stop thinking about Mir Raza and his family. How can your heart not break when you see such unimaginable pain? He was someone’s innocent child, someone’s whole world,” she wrote.
She added, “May Allah spare every mother from ever having to witness such unimaginable loss. I’m extremely sorry to have been just a spectator, helplessly witnessing this pain. May justice be served.”

Veteran actor Bushra Ansari also spoke about the case, offering prayers for Ali and his family while calling for those responsible to be punished.
“These people who do this should be punished the same way as the men who throw acid on women. Just because someone has to give people loans or any sort of money, does not mean they should be punished. It is not even that he tried to run away or vanish,” she said.
Anchor and journalist Waseem Badami used his platform to raise broader questions about equality in the justice system.
“If you compare the rich, they get more special treatment that even if they lose their dog, they get more support. It is the same streets, city and police. In the same area if a man is killed like an animal then they do not show the same support,” he said.
Actor Osman Khalid Butt reacted to the circumstances surrounding Ali’s death, describing the details as horrifying.
“These details are horrifying. I hope this conspiracy is fully unearthed and Mir Raza Ali’s family gets the justice they deserve,” he wrote.
Host Maya Khan also voiced support for Nasir’s efforts to seek justice in the case.
“Yar Jibran bhai! Stay strong! Give us a voice. We are at your service,” she wrote.
Actor Dur-e-Fishan Saleem likewise called for justice as questions continue to surround the investigation.
“Hope justice serves. Hope we don’t let people lose hope in the judicial system again and again,” she wrote.
Celebrities have also attended protests in Karachi, including Shuja Asad and Azlan Shah. They expressed solidarity with Ali’s family and friends and urged members of the entertainment industry to join the campaign for justice.

Pakistani Stars Turn Instagram Green and White as Celebrities Celebrate Independence Day
Pakistan’s Independence Day brought out the patriotic side of the country’s biggest showbiz names, with celebrities turning social media into a sea of green and white on August 14.
Pakistani stars marked the occasion in their own personal ways. Instagram was filled with festive outfits, national flags, nostalgic posts and heartfelt prayers for the country.
Among those celebrating was Aiman Khan, who joined the festivities with a rendition of the much-loved national song “Dil Dil Pakistan.” Her musical tribute quickly added to the celebratory mood surrounding the day.
Zahalay Sarhadi also chose music to express her love for the country. The actress sang “Sohni Dharti,” one of Pakistan’s most recognizable patriotic anthems, giving her Independence Day tribute a distinctly nostalgic feel.
For Sarwat Gilani, the celebrations came with a different kind of significance. The actress and host shared moments from an international gathering she attended and hosted, where she celebrated not only Pakistan’s Independence Day but also the 10th anniversary of New World Concepts’ Breakfast Café.
The initiative brought together accomplished women from different professional fields, creating a gathering centered around conversation, achievement and connection. Sarwat also acknowledged several notable guests who were part of the event, including Barrister Shahida Jamil, Pakistan Stock Exchange CEO Farrukh Sabzwari, the Consul General of Germany in Karachi and the Consul of Italy in Karachi.
Describing the occasion as a celebration of “patriotism, purpose and sisterhood,” Sarwat ended her message with a spirited “Pakistan Zindabad!”
Zubab Rana kept her message simple but meaningful as she extended Independence Day wishes to Pakistanis at home and abroad. She encouraged people to carry the spirit of freedom with them, writing, “Wishing a very happy Independence Day to every Pakistani, everywhere. Let’s keep the spirit of freedom alive in our hearts and minds.”
Hina Altaf used her Independence Day message to look beyond the celebrations and highlight the issue of freedom for Kashmiris. While wishing everyone a happy Independence Day, she also expressed solidarity with fellow Kashmiris, stressing that freedom holds a deeper meaning when it is available to everyone.
Amar Khan, meanwhile, took her followers down memory lane with a nostalgic recollection of childhood Independence Day celebrations.
The actress remembered decorating rooftops with small flags as well as large Pakistani flags before heading outside at night to join the lively celebrations. Those simple childhood traditions, she said, remain among her fondest memories associated with August 14.
Her post captured a familiar side of Independence Day that many Pakistanis can relate to – decorated rooftops, flags everywhere and children eagerly waiting for the nighttime celebrations.
Across social media, the celebrations continued throughout the day as celebrities shared their green-and-white looks, patriotic songs, personal memories and messages for the country.
