Pakistani actor and writer Osman Khalid Butt once again proved why he’s a fan favourite with wit sharper than a sword and a heart firmly on the side of equality. When a man on X (formerly Twitter) tried to define what makes a “good wife” using a shockingly outdated checklist, Osman didn’t hold back. His clever yet cutting response instantly went viral, sparking an important conversation about gender roles and respect within marriage.
It all began when an X user posted what he called “advice for men”, a cringeworthy list of traits every wife should have. From expecting women to pick up dirty socks to “know how to tie a tie,” the man’s words echoed every regressive trope still haunting desi households.
But Osman Khalid Butt wasn’t about to let that slide. Responding with signature humour and intelligence, he dropped a 26-point masterclass in sarcasm, flipping the man’s sexist list into pure comedic gold. Among his mock “warnings,” Osman quipped about women who “fail the saalan consistency test,” “refuse to exorcise the jinn hiding your car keys,” and “think a man can, heaven forbid, operate a washing machine.”
