In a move aimed at revitalising the province’s artistic identity, the Punjab government has officially appointed veteran actress and television host Iffat Omar as the Cultural Adviser to the Provincial Minister for Information and Culture, Azma Bukhari. This development marks a strategic effort by the administration to channel renewed energy into the preservation and promotion of Punjab’s rich and diverse cultural legacy.
Recognised for her decades-long contributions to Pakistan’s entertainment sector, Iffat Omar is expected to bring fresh vision and experience to her advisory role. Her appointment comes at a time when cultural institutions across the country are seeking innovative ways to stay relevant in the digital age, and her expertise in media and public engagement is anticipated to be instrumental in reshaping Punjab’s cultural landscape.
