Iffat Omar Defends Khalilur Rehman in Video Scandal

Pakistani actress and host Iffat Omar has defended playwright Khalilur Rehman Qamar amidst the scandal surrounding his leaked videos.

Omar addressed the controversy on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), subtly referencing Qamar without directly mentioning his name.

In her post, Omar highlighted the irony that those Qamar had often criticized might now be defending him against the release of his private videos. She emphasized, “If two consenting adults are together, their privacy is none of my concern. Their body, their choice.”

A criminal gang recently entrapped Qamar in a honey-trapping scheme, leading to his release after a ransom was paid. The main suspect in the abduction case claimed to possess two videos of Qamar, each about one and a half hours long, allegedly showing him trying to get close to a woman who had trapped him.

The suspect also leaked inappropriate videos of Khalilur Rehman.

Qamar alleged that these objectionable videos were made under duress at gunpoint, adding another layer of complexity to the situation.

The scandal has sparked widespread discussion in the entertainment industry and beyond, with Iffat Omar’s support bringing additional attention to the issue.
