Saheefa Jabbar recently appeared on Ahmed Ali Butt's podcast, bravely sharing her battle with depression. Reflecting on her journey, she revealed that she had been grappling with depression since 2013, initially mistaking it for reactions to unfavorable situations. Despite seemingly perfect circumstances with loving parents, financial stability, and a supportive husband, her panic attacks persisted, leading her to realize the severity of her depression and anxiety.
Coming from a middle-class background with limited awareness of mental health issues, Saheefa struggled to understand her condition. She criticized her therapist for being dismissive and solely focused on time and money rather than her well-being, emphasizing the importance of genuine concern from healthcare professionals.
Saheefa disclosed experiencing severe panic attacks and suicidal thoughts, particularly during her long-distance relationship, which heightened her awareness of her chronic depression. Despite the unwavering support from her husband and brother, managing her anxiety and depression remained challenging, with healing seeming elusive.
