Shreya Ghoshal to Pay Tribute to Ali Zafar’s ‘Jhoom’ in Bollywood Film

Indian singing sensation Shreya Ghoshal has announced her plans to recreate the magic of Pakistani singer Ali Zafar’s iconic song, Jhoom, alongside Indian composer Vishal Mishra. The much-anticipated rendition is set to be featured in the upcoming Bollywood film Crakk. Ghoshal took to microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter), expressing her deep admiration for Zafar and showering praise on the acclaimed singer for his soulful melodies, specifically highlighting the much-loved track, Jhoom. The singer prefaced her short note with a verse of the song’s chorus, “Dil jhoom jhoom chale jhoom chale sohneya.”

In a post that resonated with her fans, Ghoshal declared herself a ‘big fan’ of the Pakistani crooner, showcasing her enthusiasm for the upcoming collaboration. “I have always been a big fan of Ali Zafar and the beautiful song Jhoom! It’s very close to my heart, and I can’t wait for you all to listen to the song once again as a part of the film Crakk with Vishal Mishra and Tanishk Bagchi. Stay tuned,” the musical artist announced.

Upon hearing the exciting news of his hit song being reimagined, Zafar responded gracefully, welcoming the homage to his musical creation. “Thank you for your kind words, Shreya Ghoshal. You’re one of the most inspiring and iconic singers of our time,” the original voice behind Jhoom penned on X. The Sun Re Sajaniya star further shared his emotions regarding the upcoming rendition while expressing confidence that both Ghoshal and Mishra would do justice to the song. Zafar expressed, “I can’t wait to hear this composition that has been very close to my heart too in your and the super soulful Vishal Mishra’s voice.
