Fawad Khan, one of Pakistan’s most beloved actors, has recently come under fire from fans and social media users after his latest public appearance and endorsement stirred controversy. While he was seen enjoying the theatrical play Monkey Business in Lahore, many viewers were less interested in the production and more concerned about the actor’s perceived silence during the recent Pakistan-India conflict. The situation has reignited criticism around Fawad Khan’s loyalties and his position in the public sphere.
Public Reaction to Fawad’s Monkey Business Appearance
Fawad Khan was spotted at a theatre in Lahore with fellow celebrities Vasay Chaudhary and Bilal Lashari, attending Yasir Hussain’s stage play Monkey Business. A video shared by the official Instagram page of the play featured Fawad Khan applauding the production. “It feels so good to be back in theatre and seeing work like Monkey Business. I think you all should come and watch it—especially the work by Yasir Hussain is amazing,” Fawad said in the clip.
While his comment appeared sincere and supportive of local theatre, it did not sit well with many fans. Several online users took to the comment section to criticize the actor for what they see as an attempt to reconnect with Pakistani entertainment circles after allegedly favoring the Indian industry in recent years. Some remarks suggested that Fawad Khan’s return to local appearances is only because he is no longer welcome across the border.
