Reality television in Pakistan is evolving fast, and after the success of formats like MasterChef Pakistan and Pakistan Idol, a brand-new genre is stepping into the spotlight. Pixel Entertainment has officially announced the country’s first-ever reality rap competition, marking a major moment for Pakistan’s growing hip-hop scene.
The show, titled Rap Icon Pakistan, is being developed by the same production house behind Shark Tank Pakistan and MasterChef Pakistan. What has truly set the internet buzzing is the confirmation of Talha Anjum and Bohemia, two of the most influential names in South Asian hip-hop, as judges on the panel.
According to Pixel Entertainment CEO and executive producer Rizwan Siddiqui, the aim of the show is to discover raw talent that could shape the future of Pakistani rap. He shared that the idea is to uncover the next big voice in hip-hop, someone who could follow in the footsteps of icons like Anjum or Bohemia. The season is planned to span 10 episodes and is expected to go on air after Eidul Fitr.
The competition will feature 10 to 12 contestants, each facing a variety of rap-based challenges designed around different themes, styles, and performance formats. As the show progresses, weaker performances will lead to eliminations, narrowing the field down to a handful of finalists. The season will culminate in a grand finale, where one artist will be crowned Pakistan’s first-ever Rap Icon.
