Strings To Release 8 New Songs This Year!

Faisal Kapadia and Bilal Maqsood are returning to studios after a gap of four years to celebrate the band’s 30th anniversary.

Strings are going to release eight new singles this year, as they complete 30 years in music. A teaser video of the pop-rock band celebrating their three decades in music was recently released online. It hinted at something that’s “coming Soon.”

Well, we now know what it is. With an illustrious track record that boasts five studio albums, four seasons of Coke Studio, a number of anthems for different sports events, and a few soundtracks for Hollywood (Spider-Man 2; 2004), Bollywood (Zinda, 2006; Shootout At Lokhandwala, 2007; John Day, 2011) and Pakistan’s own Moor (2015), a celebration is well in order.

Not many people know that Strings started out as a four-boy group, a la the Beatles, back in 1988. As their two members — Rafiq Wazir Ali and Kareem Bashir — fell away in 1992, the band has since been helmed by longtime friends Faisal Kapadia and Bilal Maqsood. The duo’s first major hit was Sar Kiye Yeh Pahaar.

For the promised eight new singles, Strings are returning to recording studios after a gap of almost four years.
