Fahad Sheikh Declares: “I Don’t Beg for Work”
Actor Fahad Sheikh has openly faced the harsh reality of rejection in the entertainment industry, despite achieving success and recognition along the way. During a recent appearance on Mazaq Raat, hosted by Imran Ashraf, Fahad shared some of the toughest moments in his career.
“One of the most difficult rejections I experienced was after the Jalan drama, when the phone calls finally started coming in. Production houses were reaching out, but it all felt formal. My principle has always been that I don’t beg for work, and up until that point, I hadn’t,” Fahad explained.
He recounted a particular story: “I went to a meeting, wearing a black kurta, Peshawari Chappal, and glasses. The director was in a small room. He looked at me but wasn’t very interested, and I could sense the dismissive attitude. I stood there, unsure of what to do next. It was awkward for both of us. The person who brought me there seemed relaxed, likely knowing I was being rejected before we even arrived. They offered me coffee, which I declined, and we quickly wrapped up the meeting, leaving with disappointment. Every new city breaks you a little, but those experiences refine your craft.”
Fahad Sheikh, known for roles in dramas like Uff Ye Mohabbat, Waada, Hasrat, and Bojh, continues to grow through these challenges.
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.” – Winston Churchill
