Known for his ability to move effortlessly between comedy, romance and darker characters, Sohail Sameer has built a strong reputation through popular dramas including Suno Chanda, Tere Bin, Guddu, Ashk, Ishq Hua and Dayan. His performances in negative roles have earned particular appreciation, while his comic timing in Suno Chanda remains one of the performances fans remember fondly.
This time, however, the actor is trending for a very different reason. A clip from Doosri Aurat, a suspense-thriller short film, began circulating widely on social media. The footage showed Sohail Sameer in a romantic and intimate sequence with his female co-star, including an embrace and a kiss. The scene immediately caught viewers off guard and became a topic of heated discussion online. While some users questioned the inclusion of such a scene in a Pakistani production, others were particularly surprised to see Sohail Sameer in a role so different from the family-oriented characters audiences usually associate with him.
The controversy also opened another discussion about the kind of content being produced for Pakistani audiences. Some social media users questioned whether scenes of this nature should be allowed in local productions, while others criticised the actor for appearing in content they felt conflicted with the moral advice he has delivered during television appearances.
As the criticism continued to grow, Sohail Sameer decided to address the matter himself rather than leave the conversation unanswered.
In a detailed statement shared on social media, the actor revealed that the controversial footage was not recent. According to Sohail, the scene was filmed almost a decade ago and had only resurfaced now, years after the project was made.
