Actress Tuba Anwar revealed that several members of the entertainment industry created a WhatsApp group to combat loneliness and support each other’s mental health.
In an interview, Tuba explained that concern over emotional well-being—especially after actress Humaira Ali’s tragic death—motivated the group’s formation. "We started the group to stay connected, check in on each other, and offer emotional support," she said.
She pointed out that many actresses live away from their families for work, making them more vulnerable to isolation. The group now helps such individuals stay connected and supported.
“This tragedy made us realise how urgently we need to look out for one another,” Tuba added. “Many friends were shaken by Humaira’s passing. We don’t want anyone else to feel that alone.”
The initiative is quickly growing. Actress Sonya Hussyn announced the launch of a broader WhatsApp group, which includes not only actors but also makeup artists, crew members, and women living alone in the city.
