Amid a thriving acting career and rising fame, Pakistani actor and director Usman Mukhtar continues to place family above all else—an outlook that shapes his biggest professional choices.
During a recent Instagram Q&A, the Sabaat star opened up about why he limits his work to Islamabad-based projects. Responding to a fan’s question, Mukhtar shared that he chooses to stay close to home to care for his mother, who is battling dementia.“Because my mother lives here, and she has dementia. She’s bedridden and needs constant supervision. Since dramas often take several months to shoot, I don’t think it’s wise for me to be away from her that long,” he wrote in his Instagram story.
Known for acclaimed performances in Anaa, Sabaat, Jafaa, and the ongoing Pamaal alongside Saba Qamar—all filmed in Islamabad—Mukhtar has built a reputation as one of Pakistan’s most thoughtful and nuanced actors.
