Pakistani celebs jump on ‘AI Met Gala’ trend with virtual red carpet looks

As the buzz around the Met Gala 2026 continues to dominate global timelines, Pakistani celebrities have found an imaginative way to be part of the spectacle.

Instead of attending the event in person, stars across Pakistan have embraced a rising digital trend, using artificial intelligence to craft their own dream Met Gala appearances. The result was a stream of high-fashion, AI-generated looks that blur the line between fantasy and reality, quickly going viral on platforms like Instagram.

Among the first to jump on the trend was Srha Asghar, who shared a glamorous AI-created look that had followers doing a double take. Draped in a champagne gold ballgown adorned with intricate floral embroidery and shimmering sequins, she completed the look with a flowing cape that brought dramatic red carpet energy. Leaning into the illusion, she cheekily captioned her post: “Yes it’s true... I was invited to the Met Gala 2026, haters will say it’s fake!”

Not far behind, Qudsia Ali added her own spin to the trend, posting a carousel of AI visuals that showcased her in a soft dusty rose ensemble. The gown, crafted from layers of tulle and organza, featured delicate 3D floral detailing giving it a whimsical, couture-inspired aesthetic that felt straight out of a fantasy runway.

The trend took an even more imaginative turn with celebrity couple Rabya Kulsoom and Rehan Nazim, who reimagined themselves through a bold, Marvel-inspired lens. Their coordinated looks featured midnight-black glitter outfits accented with metallic, tentacle-like structures — a striking blend of sci-fi and high fashion that stood out instantly.

Meanwhile, Azfar Rehman approached the trend from a conceptual angle. Drawing inspiration from Antoni Gaudí’s architectural marvel La Pedrera, he shared an AI-generated look that fused structure with style. Adding a humorous touch, he asked followers whether his avant-garde creation would have made waves on the real Met Gala carpet.
