The Ali Zafar-and-Meesha Shafi Case has always been taking twists and turns since it came up two years ago. According to the latest development of the case, since Meesha was unable to gather evidence in support of her indictments, she and 8 others were booked by FIA for defaming the singer and actor, Ali Zafar. Currently, Meesha and her witnesses are residing in Canada and are therefore unable to attend the court hearings.
During the last hearing of the case at session’s court Lahore, the sessional judge suggested that Meesha can join the court hearing through Zoom, a video conferencing application. However, Ali’s lawyer objected to this and said that the evidence can’t be collected through Zoom or Skype as it doesn’t comply with the apex courts.
Since Meesha failed to appear in front of the court, Ali’s counsel offered for paying Meesha’s all travel expenses from Canada to Pakistan. Now the court has adjourned the session to 14th of November, and ordered the defendant’s counsel to make sure that Meesha is present there with her witness for the next hearing.
