Pasoori

The Honourable Artillery Company (HAC) band, the longest-standing regiment in the British Army, is visiting Pakistan, drawing attention for its captivating performance of the well-known 2022 Coke Studio song “Pasoori,” originally sung by Ali Sethi and Shae Gill. The British High Commission recently shared a video on social media featuring the HAC band’s rendition.

The video quickly gained recognition and applause. Earlier this week, the band took to social media platform X to comment on their visit and activities in Pakistan. The post read, “The HAC Band are proud to be working in Pakistan, providing musical support to His Majesty The King’s Birthday Parties at The British High Commission.”

It continued, “The band will perform at engagements throughout the week & are taking the opportunity to rehearse for the next few days.” Sethi also nodded at the reserve regiment’s instrumental take on the song, posting the clip on his official Instagram account.

According to a press release, Pasoori emerged as the most streamed Pakistani song on Spotify for 2022, surpassing all other songs released in that year, both locally and globally. The sensational Punjabi song gained popularity through TikToks, covers, dance trends, and more, securing its position at the top of Spotify’s Wrapped Insights.
