Fawad Khan’s Aabeer Gulaal Styling: Shammal Qureshi Speaks Amid Release Drama

Shammal Qureshi
Celebrity stylist and Toni & Guy North Pakistan Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Shammal Qureshi has shared a heartfelt glimpse into the making of Aabeer Gulaal, a film currently winning hearts internationally but awaiting release clearance in Pakistan.
His social media post, rich with emotion and behind-the-scenes details, has reignited conversation around the cross-border production and the yet-unresolved issue of the film’s domestic screening. “It’s finally out,” Shammal wrote on Instagram, tagging the official page of Aabeer Gulaal.
In his Instagram post, Qureshi reflected on the hard work behind the project: “Two months of 5 am call times, 4-hour commutes, and endless long days in London brought together one of the most unforgettable chapters of my career.” He thanked the cast and crew, highlighting the camaraderie on set and giving a special mention to Fawad Khan. “Thank you for having me on your team, being one of my closest friends and trusting me with your look,” he added.
Qureshi’s post came just days after the film’s global release on September 12. Starring Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor, Aabeer Gulaal has been screened in cinemas across the UAE, UK, Australia and Canada — but continues to face distribution challenges in both Pakistan and India. Despite initial buzz that it might hit Indian cinemas in late September, India’s Press Information Bureau clarified that no such clearance had been granted.
Pakistani fans remain in limbo, as the film is yet to receive the green light from local authorities for a theatrical release. Frustrated by the delay, several industry figures have spoken out in support of the film and Fawad. Director Wajahat Rauf urged for a change in approach, saying, “We want to see Fawad on our screens. Fawad is our star. And one of the main producers is UK-based. We need to be better than those not shaking hands on the cricket match,” referring to the recent controversy involving Indian cricket players.
Mahira Khan also threw her support behind Fawad, writing in a social media post: “He is our star! Our cinemas will benefit from releasing the film too.” Her message reflected a growing sentiment within the industry that Pakistan should not miss out on celebrating one of its biggest exports due to bureaucratic delays. In Dubai, the film has already created a stir; a makeup artist who attended a screening commented online, “Dude, we did the screening of the film in Dubai yesterday & everyone was gushing over Fawad’s styling. A job well done.” As Aabeer Gulaal continues to gather praise abroad, the question remains — when will audiences back home get to witness what the world is already celebrating?

Momina Iqbal Accuses PML-N MPA of Harassment and Death Threats in Shocking Allegations

Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal has come forward with serious allegations, claiming she has been subjected to prolonged online harassment, cyberbullying, and death threats allegedly linked to an individual associated with a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA).

The actress shared her detailed statement through an Instagram story, where she outlined her ordeal and expressed frustration over what she described as a lack of meaningful action from relevant authorities despite repeated complaints.

In her message, Momina stated that she has been facing continuous mental stress and online abuse for a significant period of time. She alleged that the harassment included severe cyberbullying and threats to her life, prompting her to repeatedly approach institutions such as the NCCIA, FIA, and Punjab Police in search of protection and justice.

However, according to her statement, no substantial action was taken. She further claimed that the influence of the individual involved may have played a role in delaying or preventing proper investigation. Momina also alleged that instead of receiving support, she was discouraged from pursuing the matter further, even suggesting that individuals connected to the office of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif attempted to silence or downplay her concerns.

The actress expressed deep concern over the impact the situation has had on her personal life, stating that her family has also come under threat as a result of her decision to speak out and pursue legal action. Calling for immediate intervention, Momina demanded that authorities launch an impartial investigation into the matter and ensure protection for her and her family. She stressed that those responsible should be held accountable under the law without any form of political interference.

She also issued a strong warning that if the situation continues to be ignored, she may be forced to publicly present evidence in a press conference, claiming it would expose all individuals involved in the harassment and alleged suppression of her complaints.

Despite the seriousness of her allegations, Momina ended her statement on a hopeful note, expressing faith that Punjab’s leadership would take the matter seriously and ensure justice is served without bias.

Fans Want Saba Qamar to Play ‘Cocaine Queen’ Anmol Pinky in Potential Crime Drama

saba

Pakistani actress Saba Qamar is once again making headlines, but for a casting suggestion that has taken social media by storm. The conversation began after Pakistani digital creator Bilal Hassan, popularly known online as Mystapaki, shared a passionate video urging production houses to cast Saba Qamar as alleged drug dealer “Anmol Pinky” in a possible crime-based drama or film adaptation.

The video quickly caught public attention, with many social media users agreeing that Saba possesses the intensity, screen presence, and acting range required for such a role.

In the viral clip posted on Instagram, Bilal Hassan claimed that directors and scriptwriters are likely already considering the controversial story for television or film. He encouraged Pakistani producers to move quickly and develop the project before Bollywood steps in and presents its own version of the narrative.

According to Mystapaki, the role feels almost tailor-made for Saba Qamar. He referenced her critically acclaimed performances in dramas like Baaghi and Case No. 9, arguing that anyone familiar with her acting abilities would immediately understand why she is the perfect choice for the character.

The content creator went on to praise Saba as one of Pakistan’s finest actresses, insisting that no other performer could bring the same emotional depth and fearless energy to the role. His comments have since fueled widespread debate online, with fans enthusiastically discussing what such a project could look like on screen.

Bilal Hassan also suggested Gohar Rasheed as the male lead, saying the pairing could turn the drama into a major blockbuster. He stressed that Pakistan’s entertainment industry should take ownership of local stories instead of allowing foreign productions to shape the narrative first.

While no official project related to Anmol Pinky has been announced so far, the internet is already buzzing with casting theories and fan-made concepts. Many viewers believe Saba Qamar’s past performances in layered and unconventional roles prove that she could convincingly portray a complex character inspired by real-life controversy.

Ghulam Mohiuddin and Ahmed Ali Butt compare Hania Aamir to legendary star Babra Sharif

Ghulam Mohiuddin

Veteran actor Ghulam Mohiuddin and comedian Ahmed Ali Butt have likened Hania Aamir to legendary star Babra Sharif, noting similarities in their body language and sharp features.

The comparison came during an interview where they also discussed Punjab’s new Film City project, the industry’s decline, and the potential remake of Mohiuddin’s classic film ‘Mera Naam Hai Mohabbat’.

Released in 1975, ‘Mera Naam Hai Mohabbat’ introduced Ghulam Mohiuddin and Babra Sharif to the Pakistani silver screen and propelled both actors to stardom following the film’s commercial success.

Babra Sharif went on to become one of Pakistan’s one of the most celebrated actresses during the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. She began her career in television commercials in 1973 before making her film debut in ‘Mera Naam Hai Mohabbat’, where she portrayed a terminally ill young woman.

The romantic drama revolved around a young woman concealing her illness from her lover while her family also remained unaware of her condition. The film, remembered for its tragic ending and emotional storyline, won the Nigar Award for Best Film in 1975.

During the interview, Butt asked Mohiuddin whether he would consider remaking ‘Mera Naam Hai Mohabbat’. Mohiuddin replied that he would be willing to revisit the project if he could find someone similar to Babra Sharif. Butt then suggested Hania Aamir, calling her the Gen Z version of Babra Sharif in terms of looks and personality, a comparison Mohiuddin agreed with.

The remarks quickly generated discussion on social media, where Hania Aamir enjoys a strong following. The actor, known for her work in Urdu and Punjabi television and cinema, began her career with the 2016 comedy film ‘Janaan’. She made her television debut a year later with the romantic drama ‘Titli’, earning widespread recognition before starring in projects such as ‘Anaa’, ‘Na Maloom Afraad 2’ and the war film ‘Parwaaz Hai Junoon’.

Speaking further during the interview, Mohiuddin said he had spent years trying to secure funding for the Film City initiative and had finally succeeded. He added that he played a major role in shaping the proposal and bringing together the people involved in the project.

Announced last month, the Film City project is being presented by the Punjab government as a flagship initiative aimed at rebuilding Pakistan’s long-neglected film and media sector and revitalising the entertainment industry.

According to an official statement, the project has been envisioned as Pakistan’s first fully integrated “end-to-end” media production hub, combining film, television, digital media, virtual effects and post-production facilities within a single coordinated framework.

Mohiuddin said investment and development in the entertainment sector could help bring greater international recognition to Pakistan’s film industry. He added that cooperation, planning and institutional structure were essential for the industry’s revival and long-term growth.

Ghulam Mohiuddin remains one of the most recognised figures in Pakistani cinema, with a career spanning more than 400 Urdu and Punjabi films from the 1970s onward. He entered the film industry with ‘Dil Walay’ in 1974 before achieving major success through ‘Mera Naam Hai Mohabbat’ the following year.

Over the decades, he became known for films such as ‘Rangeelay Jasoos’, ‘Lady Commando’ and ‘International Gorillay’, cementing his place as one of the defining stars of Pakistani cinema.
