Faysal Quraishi: Girls Should Stay Financially Independent
The entertainment industry is known for its cutthroat nature, especially for women. In a recent interview, veteran Pakistani actor Faysal Quraishi discussed why many female actors in the industry take extended breaks from their careers. He explained that family responsibilities and societal expectations often push women to pause their professional journeys.
When asked why men usually work longer in the industry than women, Quraishi said women handle more household and childcare duties and need both security and financial independence. He mentioned that Sunita Marshall and her husband Hassan work as equals while raising their children well, while Javeria Saud and Savera Nadeem both took breaks from acting to focus on their families before returning to their careers. According to him, many actresses take such pauses because of the responsibilities they face after marriage.
When questioned about his wife’s career choices, Quraishi said he fully supports her independence. He explained that he does not stop anyone from working and believes decisions about work should be made freely. He added that he never pressures his wife about anything and that mutual respect and freedom are essential for a healthy relationship.
Speaking about his latest drama, Case No. 9, Quraishi praised writer and journalist Shahzeb Khanzada for creating a bold and meaningful story. He said Shahzeb wrote the script with dedication, even while undergoing neck treatment, and that a good drama or film depends on the producer’s ability to bring the right team together.
Quraishi also addressed workplace harassment, noting that many women, especially in conservative households, struggle even to get permission to work. He said that if a girl faces harassment at work, such as being called into an office unnecessarily, she often stays silent out of fear of losing her job. He emphasized that small incidents can grow into bigger issues later and urged families to support their daughters. He advised that women should either leave the job or confront the harasser but never suffer in silence.
He concluded by stressing the importance of awareness and family communication, saying that nothing helps more than knowing one’s family stands in support. Ending on an optimistic note about his new project, Quraishi said audiences will be surprised by the twists in Case No. 9, which explores themes and characters never before seen in Pakistani television.

‘I Am Absolutely Fine’: Imran Ashraf Reacts to Shocking Fake Death News
Imran Ashraf has had to do something no celebrity should ever have to do and that is to assure the world that he is still alive.
The actor recently found himself at the centre of a bizarre social media hoax after AI-generated videos falsely claimed that he had passed away. The fabricated clips spread across social media, leaving some fans genuinely confused about what had happened.
The videos were particularly convincing because they featured digitally created versions of familiar Pakistani personalities, including journalists and celebrities. As the content circulated, the false reports began taking on a life of their own.
Imran eventually stepped in to put the rumours to rest himself.
Taking to his Instagram story, the actor shared a direct message for his followers, writing, “ALHAMDULILLAH I AM ABSOLOUTLY FINE ITS A FAKE NEWS NEED YOUR PRAYERS.”
His message made it clear that there was no truth behind the death reports and that he was perfectly fine.
Among the fabricated content circulating online were videos featuring AI-generated versions of actor Bilal Abbas, former cricketer Shahid Afridi and journalist Mansoor Ali Khan. The use of familiar faces appeared to give the fake reports an added sense of credibility, making the hoax even more disturbing.
One video took the deception a step further by showing what appeared to be Imran Ashraf’s funeral. Such content can easily mislead viewers who encounter it without knowing that the footage has been digitally manipulated.
Unfortunately, Imran is not the first Pakistani celebrity to become the target of an AI-powered death hoax.
Earlier this year, veteran singer Tahira Syed was also forced to respond after false reports about her death began circulating online. She later appeared in a video to confirm that she was alive and healthy, while reminding people to check the authenticity of information before believing or sharing it.
