A fresh wave of drama has gripped Pakistan’s entertainment industry as two prominent television personalities find themselves locked in a very public war of words. What began as a casual critique during an interview has now escalated into a pointed exchange, with Javeria Saud strongly responding to remarks made by Tabish Hashmi.
Tabish Hashmi, currently riding high on the success of his hit talk show Hasna Mana Hai, has built a reputation for his sharp wit and unfiltered humor, with a growing fan base and a string of celebrity interviews under his belt, he has quickly become one of the most talked-about hosts in the country. Adding another feather to his cap, he recently stepped into acting with his film debut in Aag Lagay Basti Mein.
During a recent conversation with Nadia Khan, Tabish weighed in on the phenomenon of viral morning show clips and the authenticity of certain segments aired during Ramadan transmissions. He candidly admitted that while some clips come across as humorous, others feel outright “cringe.” More notably, he criticized the alleged practice of planted calls, suggesting that such tactics, often used to boost ratings, lack grace and authenticity. Acknowledging the intense competition for viewership - and the lucrative paychecks that come with it - he maintained that chasing ratings through questionable means doesn’t sit right with him.
While Tabish refrained from naming anyone directly, many viewers quickly connected his remarks to ongoing conversations around Ramadan programming. Among those who appeared to take the comments personally was Javeria Saud, who has previously faced accusations of incorporating scripted or planted calls in her own Ramadan transmission.
