Who’s Your Favourite Singer? Hania Aamir’s Five-Word Reply Mentions Asim Azhar

Pakistani superstar Hania Aamir once again proved why she rules both the screen and social media after a playful five-word response during a recent public interaction sent fans into a whirlwind.

When asked about her favourite singer and the possibility of a musical collaboration, Hania skipped the predictable answer. Flashing a mischievous smile, she leaned toward the microphone and quipped, “Do you want me to say Asim Azhar?” – instantly sending the crowd into roaring laughter.

Within hours, the clip spread like wildfire across Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and TikTok. Fans applauded her bold, carefree energy, with many calling her response iconic, witty, and effortlessly charming.

The moment reignited long-standing rumours surrounding her alleged connection with Asim Azhar, speculation that resurfaced strongly after the singer announced his split from Merub Ali last year. Since then, online detectives have been piecing together clues, searching for any sign of a rekindled romance.

Fuel was added to the fire when eagle-eyed followers noticed both Hania and Asim wearing strikingly similar black sweaters in separate social media posts, triggering whispers of a subtle style signal. The buzz only intensified when Hania jokingly hinted at a “Dopahar Jummah” wedding date in another fan interaction, prompting wild predictions of a Ramadan 2026 nikkah.

Adding further intrigue, both stars were reportedly spotted at the same Qawwali night in Lahore, though they cleverly avoided appearing together in photographs, leaving fans craving confirmation.

Despite the storm of speculation, neither Hania nor Asim has officially addressed the rumours, keeping their admirers guessing and glued to every update.

Meanwhile, Hania continues to soar professionally. She remains Pakistan’s most-followed Instagram celebrity, boasting over 19 million followers, her drama Meri Zindagi Hai Tu recently crossed a staggering 1.35 billion views on YouTube, solidifying her dominance not just locally but internationally as well.

The actress also marked a major milestone with her Indian Punjabi cinema debut in the horror-comedy Sardaar Ji 3, starring alongside Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa. Despite facing a theatrical ban in India, the film shattered box-office records in Pakistan and emerged as one of the highest-grossing Punjabi films globally.

On the music front, Asim Azhar is also riding high, delivering consecutive chart-toppers that keep him firmly at the top of Pakistan’s pop scene.

Usama Khan says Pakistan isn’t ready for global streaming platforms

Usama Khan

Actor Usama Khan has questioned whether Pakistan is ready for global streaming platforms, saying the country’s culture of censorship must change before local productions can compete internationally.

In a recent Instagram story, Khan reacted to the government’s announcement that it is working to bring Pakistani films and dramas to platforms such as Netflix.

He argued that international streaming services are driven by authentic and unrestricted storytelling, including true crime, political dramas and stories based on real-life issues, while Pakistani content continues to face strict limitations.

According to Khan, filmmakers and writers are often unable to explore subjects such as politics, crime and history because of censorship, making it difficult to produce the kind of content global OTT platforms expect.

He added that unless artists are given greater creative freedom and the culture of banning content comes to an end, Pakistan will not be fully prepared for the international streaming market.

Khan’s remarks came after Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal announced that the government is in talks to bring Pakistani productions to Netflix and other global streaming platforms, while also developing a local OTT platform to expand the country’s media exports.
