On Sunday, March 28th, Imran met with a severe accident at the Dubai International Airport and was immediately taken to the hospital. Doctors have emphatically advised that he be on complete bed rest so as not to further injure himself. This accident has, to the dismay of fans, promoters and Imran himself, forced him to cancel his upcoming 15-city American tour.

Imran slipped down the marble  staircase at the airport on the way to his flight back to The UK. His fall resulted in a broken rib, broken collar bone and fractured skull. Doctors are certain that he will make a full recovery, but he needs copious rest in order to completely completely heal his injuries and be fit to tour. Imran has been mandated to be on bed rest for the next 4-6 weeks. After that time, doctors will reassess his status.

Jay Gatzby, Managing Director of Komposit Entertainment, Imran’s North American P.R. Firm, released the following statement regarding Imran’s situation:

“At this time we are most concerned with making sure that Imran takes the proper steps to fully recover. We are empathetic with the promoters and appreciate their flexibility and their understanding of the situation. Imran has rocketed to success in the past year and it is unfortunate that he has to take a brief break at this exciting point in his career. Imran’s fans and his art are incredibly important to him. He is looking forward to getting back into shape so that he can continue to tour and share his music with the world. Imran has assured us that he is feeling stronger each day and we have no doubt that he will be in full form very soon.”

At this time, Imran’s management asks that fans send prayers and positive thoughts to Imran so that he makes a speedy recovery.
