Ayesha Toor ignites regional rivalry, claiming, “Men in Karachi are better than those in Punjab.”
Ayesha Toor, the talented host and actress celebrated for her impressive work, recently remarked that men in Karachi are better than those in Punjab. Known for her wit and articulate expression, Toor appeared on the FHM podcast to share her observations on cultural differences she’s noticed while traveling across Pakistan.
She described how men often react to women when they’re out, saying it’s something women encounter frequently. In her view, Karachi is better in this regard—men may glance once but quickly go back to what they’re doing, allowing women their space. In contrast, she observed that in Punjab, men start staring as soon as you step off the plane, and this behavior continues regardless of where you go.
She explained, “Punjab is more developed—they have the infrastructure, wealth, better opportunities, and the military—so one would expect them to be more progressive, but it’s quite the opposite. In her experience, patriarchy is more prominent in Punjab than in Karachi.”
