Yasir Hussain Expresses Disappointment with Current Pakistani TV Content

Yasir Hussain, a talented Pakistani actor, comedian, and director, gained recognition through his debut film “Karachi Say Lahore” and subsequent projects like “Lahore Say Aagay.”

In a recent appearance on Iffat Omar’s YouTube show “Say It All With Iffat Omar,” Yasir expressed disappointment with the current state of Pakistani TV content and acting. He reminisced about the golden era of Pakistani television, citing  classic dramas like “Ankahi,” “Sona Chandi,” and “Andhaira Ujala.”

Yasir lamented the lack of quality acting in contemporary Pakistani dramas, comparing it unfavorably to the talent seen in Indian cinema, where actors like Irfan Khan and Manoj Vajpayee have thrived, and new stars like Ranveer Singh have emerged.

Regarding the offers he receives for roles, Yasir revealed that he’s selective and often declines offers, leading producers to assume he won’t accept roles. This has resulted in fewer offers for him, but he chooses roles carefully and occasionally accepts them if they meet his standards. He also mentioned his love for theater and film, along with his lucrative hosting gigs.
