Nadia Afgan Reveals Decision to Not Have Children

Planning and raising children is a challenging task for women, and even those in showbiz face similar struggles. During an appearance on a local morning show, Suno Chanda actor Nadia Afgan opened up about her personal journey with having children.
Afgan shared, “After trying and miscarrying twice, and then going through IVF, I eventually realized that this was not meant for me.” She discussed the extensive procedures she underwent, touching on the subtle trauma and eventual acceptance that accompanied her decision.
However, significant decisions like these are not made in isolation. Afgan expressed her gratitude for her husband’s unwavering support during this difficult time. “I give 100% credit to Jawwad. Ever since we got married, we agreed to handle our own sides of the families.” This approach not only strengthened their relationship but also helped them face familial and societal expectations together as a united front.
Having children is a choice that is often snatched from women in Pakistani society, leading to many instances of unwanted pregnancies, too many children at the expense of their health and postpartum depression. However, such candid reflections coming from women in showbiz such as Afgan can help set a much-needed change in motion.

The Sammi actor further revealed, “I decided that I cannot take more mental and physical pressure on myself, and in order to protect my sanity in the longer run, I need to make a decision now.” The recognition of her mental and physical condition helped the actor tremendously and she was able to make a satisfactory choice.
As the debate rekindles a lost flame for the Suno Chanda actor, it lights up many bulbs within the normal populace regarding parental responsibility, bodily autonomy, and active support system within close friends and families. With Afgan’s acceptance around “I decided not to have children” as one of the toughest settlements in her life, it urges and motivates women across the country to step up for themselves and exercise their rights.
Moreso, it also tinkles the reality check bell within the male population – allowing them to reconsider their roles and responsibilities within their sphere of access. Despite Afgan’s bold forefront in making the decision, her husband emerges as a pillar of support without whom the actor’s choice and subsequent journey would have been hard to navigate.
In an earlier interview last year, Afgan shared her two cents on age differences in marriages. When asked if she believed age was a determinant of marital success, Afgan firmly asserted that, when respect and love existed between partners, age became an inconsequential factor. With her husband, who is twelve years her junior, Afgan experienced a sense of maturity that transcended mere numbers. She went on to explain that her strong belief in destiny played a crucial role in their union.
She talked about the challenges that could arise from living together 24/7, like her being a day person while her husband was a night owl. However, she emphasized that their strong foundation of friendship made all the difference. They had first met through a project and participated in various social welfare activities together. Her husband’s honest confession of his feelings for her ignited their journey toward marriage. She quoted him, saying, “Marriage is not just about living together; it’s about growing together.”

Sunita Marshall Talks Love, Identity on Podcast

In a candid and heartfelt conversation on the FWhy Podcast with Frieha Altaf, actor and former supermodel Sunita Marshall openly discussed her experiences with love, identity, and living authentically in Pakistan’s culturally divided society.
Sunita, who was born into a Christian family, often encounters confusion due to her name. She recalled with a laugh how a driver in Dubai once asked, “Madam, who are you?” after reading her full name—Sunita Marshall Ahmed. “Sunita is a Hindu name, Marshall is Christian, and now I’ve added Ahmed,” she explained, calling the driver’s question “a beautiful one.”
She met actor Hassan Ahmed in 2003, and after five years of quiet dating, chose to marry him despite religious and familial concerns. “Everyone around me said I had to marry within my community,” she shared. “But I live in Pakistan and I love my life here. I didn’t want to leave acting or modelling. I knew Hassan and his family—they loved me.”
When her family moved to the UK and her younger brother received an immigration letter to Canada, Sunita faced the possibility of living alone. In response, she and Hassan decided to accelerate their wedding plans. Once Hassan met her Uncle Kenny, the rest of her family agreed to support their union.
To avoid potential objections from extended relatives, they held a private Christian wedding. Sunita emphasized that while Hassan’s family never pressured her to convert, her own family had to manage expectations around their interfaith marriage. She described the wedding preparations as hectic and last-minute.
Even today, Sunita hears criticism. “People say, ‘You’re so beautiful—if only you were Muslim!’” she said with amusement, choosing not to take such comments to heart.
Now living in a joint family setup, she credited her husband and in-laws for supporting her career. “I never gave up my work or felt limited. Of course, you need to be mindful—it’s like, ‘When in Rome, live like Romans.’”
Sunita, who has two children with Hassan, also spoke about parenting. In a past interview with Nida Yasir, she said both parents and teachers shape a child’s thinking, and sometimes adults need to step back. “We shouldn’t interfere in everything. Positive reinforcement has a big impact on a child’s development,” she said.

In a surprising moment during the conversation, Quratulain said she would rather travel with Aroosa than with Iqrar, explaining, “Iqrar would somehow find his way, but if I left Aroosa behind, we’d both worry about how she would get there.”
The candid admission highlighted the rare and close friendship between the sister wives—something rarely seen in public discourse. Social media users shared mixed reactions; some praised the maturity and bond of sisterhood on display, while others questioned the dynamics of such an unconventional relationship.
This conversation adds a new chapter to Iqrar Ul Hassan’s already headline-making personal life, revealing that in this family, the wives sometimes prioritize their bond with each other, even over their husbands.
