Faysal Quraishi Defends Hania Aamir Amid Backlash Over Indian Project

Pakistani actor Faysal Quraishi has weighed in on the growing political divide between Pakistan and India and its adverse impact on the entertainment industry. Speaking out in defense of actress Hania Aamir, Quraishi expressed disappointment over the criticism she faced for collaborating on a cross-border project with India.
The project, which reportedly featured top Indian talent, was allegedly shut down following public backlash and rising political tensions. Quraishi condemned the politicization of art, stressing that artists should be allowed to work freely, regardless of national boundaries.
“It’s unfortunate to see talent being stifled by politics,” he said, adding that Hania Aamir did not deserve the trolling she endured. He emphasized that such collaborations could pave the way for better understanding between the two nations.

Rubina Ashraf’s ‘zero acting’ Remark On Alizeh Shah Reignites Online Debate

Veteran actress Rubina Ashraf criticising fellow actor Alizeh Shah has sparked a fresh round of backlash on social media, with users accusing the senior artist of harbouring a personal grudge.
The clip, taken from a talk show aired during Eid festivities, features Rubina Ashraf reviewing Alizeh Shah’s performance in the telefilm Chand Raat Aur Chandni. In the segment, Ashraf dismisses Shah’s acting abilities altogether, stating: “She is zero. Not just in this drama, but in every drama.”
Ashraf went on to argue that any praise for Shah should go to the director and writer, and remarked that the actress only contributed with “her makeup, her curled hair, her lipstick, and her look,” adding that Shah appears the same in every production.
The segment also included a heated exchange between Ashraf and her co-panelists Atiqa Odho and Nadia Jamil, both of whom appeared to take issue with the harshness of the critique.
The video, though not new, has gone viral again in the wake of Alizeh Shah’s recent statements about the challenges she has faced in the entertainment industry. Shah has spoken openly about her mental health struggles, industry isolation, and alleged harassment by senior figures, including artists and producers.
Social media users have been quick to defend Shah, calling Ashraf’s comment “petty,” “vindictive,” and reflective of a wider problem in the industry where younger female artists are subjected to personal attacks under the guise of professional criticism.
One user wrote, “Rubina Ashraf has a personal problem with Alizeh Shah. If women wearing makeup get zero marks, then you’ll have to write off half the industry.”
Several social media users defended Alizeh Shah, calling the criticism “internalised misogyny” and “bullying.” One viral post claimed jealousy was behind the backlash, while others noted the video’s resurfacing fits a pattern of harassment Shah has spoken about. She hasn’t responded yet but recently shared emotional accounts of being sidelined and targeted by senior industry figures, including singer Shazia Manzoor. “I’ve stayed silent long enough,” Shah stated. “Now I will expose everyone.”

Pakistani Actress Sheds Light On Reasons For Living Alone

Pakistani actress Ammara Chaudhry has shared a deeply personal and “frightening” experience about the challenges of living alone, highlighting a terrifying incident during her battle with COVID-19.
During a recent appearance on a private TV show, Ammara Chaudhry spoke about the increasing number of young men and women living alone in major cities like Karachi, often for work or studies.
She emphasized that while there are various reasons for this, solo living is far from easy. “There are many times when one profoundly feels the absence of their loved ones,” she stated. This feeling is particularly strong upon returning from shoots and intensifies significantly when one falls ill.
Ammara, whose family resides in Lahore while she lives in Karachi for work, recounted a particularly harrowing experience from two years ago.
Ammara revealed that she contracted COVID-19 while in Karachi for shoots. During this period, the absence of her family was acutely felt. The day after testing positive, she lost consciousness for an entire day, with no one aware of her condition. Concerned by her unresponsiveness, her family contacted her landlord, explaining the situation. The landlord then sent someone to check on her well-being.
“When I regained consciousness after being unconscious for a whole day, my phone was flooded with calls from home,” Ammara shared. Her family had even booked tickets to Karachi, gravely worried. The landlord later informed her that he had only knocked on her door at her family’s insistence, having previously assumed she had returned to Lahore.
Ammara Chaudhry’s candid account underscores the isolation and potential dangers faced by individuals living independently, especially during health crises.

Yumna Zaidi reveals why ‘Tere Bin 2’ is still on hold

Yumna Zaidi has revealed why Season 2 of the hit drama serial Tere Bin, announced nearly two years ago, still hasn’t been released.
In a recent appearance at an event in the US, the actress said, “I think the project was announced too soon.” She went on to add, “I believe the real responsibility for the delay lies with both the producers and the actors.”
Yumna clarified that while fans should remain hopeful, nothing is finalised yet. “You all should hope for Season 2, but I don’t have any specific information in this regard yet, because it is still under completion,” she explained.
Tere Bin, which aired on Geo Entertainment from December 2022 to July 2023, gained immense popularity not only in Pakistan but also internationally. Riding on its success, producer Abdullah Kadwani announced Tere Bin Season 2 in July 2023.
The 58-episode series followed the turbulent love story of Murtasim, played by Wahaj Ali, and Meerab, played by Yumna Zaidi, a married couple navigating misunderstandings, emotional tension, and a deep yet complex feelings for one another.
However, nearly two years since the announcement, there has been no official update on the second season. In fact, both Geo TV and Seventh Sky Entertainment have removed the Season 2 announcement post from their official social media platforms, further fueling speculation about the project’s release.
