Mahira Khan Says Salim Tried for Years to Convince Her to Marry

Mahira Khan

Superstar Mahira Khan revealed that her husband, Salim Karim, spent years convincing her to get married before they finally tied the knot.

Appearing on Nida Yasir’s Eid morning show with the cast of Love Guru, Mahira opened up about her personal life, emotional nature, and her love story.

“I don’t hide my emotions,” she said. “I’m expressive by nature and can’t keep things bottled up for long. I’m a romantic in real life too and never delay expressing my feelings.”

When asked about her relationship, Mahira said, “Salim kept asking me to marry him for years,” though she didn’t mention exactly how long it took her to agree.

Describing her husband, she shared, “He’s shy and prefers to stay away from the camera, which is why you don’t often see him with me at events.”

She recalled a trip to London: “Everyone recognized me and kept calling out ‘Mahira Saleem Karim.’ Since then, Salim avoids public events.”

Mahira laughed while adding, “After our wedding videos went viral, people memorized his face. Now, everyone recognizes him — but he’s still not comfortable in the spotlight.”

Wishing he were more expressive, she added, “I just wish he were as romantic and open with his emotions as I am.”

She mentioned this was her second Eid-ul-Adha after marriage and noted, “Life hasn’t changed much since we got married.”

Mahira Khan married businessman Salim Karim in October 2023. It was her second marriage after parting ways with her first husband, Ali Askari, in 2015. The couple shares a son, Azlan.

Yumna Zaidi

Yumna Zaidi has revealed why Season 2 of the hit drama serial Tere Bin, announced nearly two years ago, still hasn’t been released.

In a recent appearance at an event in the US, the actress said, “I think the project was announced too soon.” She went on to add, “I believe the real responsibility for the delay lies with both the producers and the actors.”

Yumna clarified that while fans should remain hopeful, nothing is finalised yet. “You all should hope for Season 2, but I don’t have any specific information in this regard yet, because it is still under completion,” she explained.

Tere Bin, which aired on Geo Entertainment from December 2022 to July 2023, gained immense popularity not only in Pakistan but also internationally. Riding on its success, producer Abdullah Kadwani announced Tere Bin Season 2 in July 2023.

The 58-episode series followed the turbulent love story of Murtasim, played by Wahaj Ali, and Meerab, played by Yumna Zaidi, a married couple navigating misunderstandings, emotional tension, and a deep yet complex feelings for one another.

However, nearly two years since the announcement, there has been no official update on the second season. Humayun Saeed

Superstar Humayun Saeed recently recalled an unexpected moment from 2005 when he danced alongside Bollywood legends Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta at the Zee Cinema Awards.

During a podcast, Humayun shared that he, Reema, Adnan Siddiqui, and other Pakistani artists received invitations to attend the award show in London.

He recounted a light-hearted moment on the flight: “My co-actor Fakhar joked, ‘What if Shah Rukh calls you on stage and asks you to dance with him? How would you feel?’” Humayun laughed at the time, unaware that the joke would soon become reality.

“When we landed, I noticed something odd. Instead of joining the rest of the artists on their bus, the organizers asked me to board a separate one,” Humayun said.

When he asked why, they explained that he had a rehearsal scheduled with Shah Rukh and Preity for a dance performance the next day. “I was shocked. Fakhar’s joke had come true!” he said.

Humayun described his interaction with Shah Rukh Khan warmly. “He greeted me like he already knew me and even helped me learn the dance steps.”

Bushra Ansari’s Strong Advice to Parents After Swat Madrassa Tragedy

Bushra

Senior actress Bushra Ansari urged parents to actively monitor the madrassas they choose for their children and to keep a close watch on the clerics teaching there.

In a short video recently posted on Instagram, she addressed the tragic case of a young boy in Swat who died after allegedly facing violence at the hands of a madrassa teacher.

“Everyone, including the parents of the child who died in Swat, knows he wasn’t killed just for not studying. There was something else behind it,” she said.

She condemned the lack of accountability and pointed out that although officials once discussed registering and monitoring madrassas, they have failed to follow through. “To this day, no madrassa has been monitored or registered,” she added.

Bushra Ansari called on well-known clerics and TV scholars to take responsibility and publicly condemn such incidents. “They must monitor madrassas and supervise the teachers working there,” she emphasized.

She also questioned the qualifications of many madrassa teachers, stating, “Most of them lack proper education. They teach incorrectly and can’t even translate Hadiths or verses of the Holy Quran accurately.”

She went on to say, “Usually, anyone with basic literacy gets a job in a madrassa and even receives a house. They are given free items on Eid and other occasions, and as a result, they often lack genuine devotion to Islam.”

Addressing parents directly, she urged, “Have mercy on your children. Don’t hand over their lives to clerics and teachers without scrutiny. Listen to your children and take their concerns seriously.”

While discussing the child’s death, Bushra Ansari also criticized the victim’s family for their inaction and lack of awareness.

Earlier this week, Farhan, a young madrassa student from Chilyar village in Swat’s Khwaza Khela tehsil, tragically died after allegedly suffering severe physical abuse by his teachers.
