Day 30 of Karachi’s 39-day World Culture Festival (Arts Council) ends with Mega Musical Concert 3.0 and Kamli film creators’ session—plus Meesha Shafi’s long-awaited Karachi stage return!
“You’ve made my heart happy!” Meesha told the crowd. “Performing here after years is pure joy—let’s party!” She called the festival a “much-needed, wonderful initiative.”
The packed concert also featured Faris Shafi, Azerbaijan’s Sahib Pashazade, Darabu, and rising Pakistani stars Gizri & Junoon Elia Lawn.
Earlier, a panel on 2022’s Kamli brought together director Sarmad Khoosat, writer Dr. Umair Ahmed, Arts Council President Muhammad Ahmed Shah, and Noor-ul-Huda Shah. Sarmad thanked fans for connecting with the film: “Art unites—this festival is living proof!”
He looked back at Pakistan’s thriving cinematic past, stressing, “Music is essential to culture and heritage”—which is why he included 6 songs in Kamli. Touching on the film’s themes of migration and relationships, he said: “No one leaves home without a reason; decline comes from bonds breaking or circumstances forcing change. Cinema should move people.”
Sarmad also shared his lowkey vibe: he’d rather message close friends than post on social media. And he teased a 2026 project—set to launch the same quiet way!
