A defamation suit was filed against Veena Malik on Thursday, 12th of November, 2020 by her ex-husband, Asad Khattak. The defamation notice was sent to the former actress for damaging the reputation of her former husband and keeping her children unlawfully in Pakistan. Asad claimed that his children, Abram and Amal, are U.S citizens and Veena Malik hasn’t allowed him to meet them, though the court had given decision in his favor.
Asad posted the photos of real court orders in a tweet and stated that Dubai court rejected Veena Malik’s custody and handed over the minors to the father. Khattak requested the FIA and Ministry of Interior to take action in this regard and put Veena on the exit control list.
These are the real Dubai court orders, rejecting Veena Malik's custody and handing over the minors to father.
Such a shame and blatant lie in the eyes of law and state. Still I am seeking the answers how kids were transferred from Dubai to Pakistan?#VeenaMalikServed500M pic.twitter.com/8PQwZ3hCJt

However, the story doesn’t end here, Veena Malik also responded to the claims and in a tweet she stated that she is the rightful guardian of the children according to Shariah and law both. She claimed that she has the custody of their children since September 2019 and she posted the photos of the legal orders issued by a Rawalpindi Family Court. In short, Veena has denied keeping her children ‘unlawfully’ with her.

Veena Malik’s lawyer said that the children are living with the mother for quite some time and that Asad is demanding their custody only because Veena asked him to return an amount of Rs. 80 million. This is the amount which Asad took from Veena to start a business when they were still together. Veena and Asad got married in 2013 and got divorced in 2017 in a court in Dubai.
