Khalilur Rehman: ‘Nation Won’t Find Anyone Like Me’ After Scandal’

Khalilur Rehman Qamar, the renowned Pakistani screenwriter and director, declared that the nation will never find another like him, expressing deep disillusionment after a recent incident.
In an interview with a private channel, Qamar stated, “There was only one Bulleh Shah, only one Saadat Hasan Manto, and there is only one Khalilur Rehman Qamar. This nation will not find another like me.”
Reflecting on the ordeal where he was held hostage for seven hours, forced to recite the Kalima repeatedly, and subjected to gunfire, Qamar revealed that he is now questioning whether to continue living in the country.
Despite his despair, he emphasized that he has never hated his homeland and prays for the strength to stay, as he cannot imagine life without it.
Qamar also expressed concerns over rising inflation, highlighting that people are being crushed by economic pressures, leaving them with only two choices: to sell their own skin or someone else’s.
He concluded by affirming his support for Maria B, who is working to preserve Islamic values, stating that he stands with her in this mission.
