Mawra and Fahad Advocate Prioritizing Mental Health in Open Discussion
During a segment on “Had Kar Di,” Mawra and Fahad briefly discussed the mental health of fellow artists in the entertainment industry while sitting across from Momin Saqib. Whether he was joking remains open to interpretation. The star declared, “I think there is no one in the industry to whom one can go for relationship advice because all are victims of mental health. Everyone has issues.”
Momin persisted, questioning whether everyone indeed faces issues in the industry. Fahad emphasized, “It’s the nature of our work.” He stated, “What is our work? Someone sees you, they judge you based on looks, your voice, how you look today. Today, I’ve worn this shirt that I wore two days ago, someone’s already put the video up, I saw it on the way… So, we are stuck on different topics. Why would you want advice? Take advice from someone at home.”
In a more sombre tone, Mawra Hocane used her Instagram platform on World Mental Health Day to address the same issue. She shared a video featuring a younger version of herself and wrote, “I have spent the last three years of my life focusing on this little girl. She needed to heal, to rest, to be with herself…To walk away from the noise and the lights…Find that light within instead…To work just enough for joy and not find validation in exhaustion…Most importantly, she wanted to be ‘home’ and home she was after many many many years.”
Marwa’s Journey: Rediscovering Childhood Memories
Mawra was alluding to her former self as a child, now her inner child, emphasizing the significance of healing this inner aspect. Numerous mental health experts advocate nurturing one’s inner child by providing the love and care they may have lacked or yearned for. Since the inner child is an integral part of one’s self, this, in turn, constitutes an act of self-love that contributes to the healing of the adult self.
The actor emphasized further: “Make yourself a priority; don’t shy away. In 2020, I learned not to disregard my inner voice, to heed my body, to pursue happiness above all else because, in the end, that’s what truly counts… My love and support go out to those who endure silently.”
