Yasir Hussain Under Fire for Controversial Remarks on Women’s Role in Affairs

Actor and screenwriter Yasir Hussain is no stranger to public backlash—but his recent comments have struck a particularly raw nerve. In a now-viral video clip, the outspoken celebrity sparked a social media storm after implying that women bear greater responsibility in cases of second marriages and extramarital affairs. What followed was a fierce debate, intensified by Hussain’s defiant response to critics.

A Statement That Sparked Outrage

During a candid conversation on a digital talk show, Yasir Hussain claimed that in situations involving second marriages or affairs, “the woman plays a bigger role; honestly, the man is not that much at fault.” His words immediately ignited backlash online, with many accusing him of perpetuating regressive narratives and unfairly shifting blame away from men.

When the host challenged this perspective—pointing out that women are often unaware that a man is already married—Yasir brushed it off as a rarity, estimating it happens in “only 0.1 percent” of cases. He further justified his stance by saying he knows of women who not only pursued married men knowingly but also pressured them to leave their first wives.

Social Media Reacts—And So Does Yasir Hussain

The digital fallout was swift. A prominent media outlet reported on the backlash, only to receive a scathing Instagram story from Yasir. In the post, he used an offensive term aimed at the outlet and urged followers to “watch the full interview” before passing judgment.

In a follow-up post, he attempted to clarify his position by writing, “With one wife, you’ll be happy,” suggesting that his comments had been taken out of context. However, this did little to ease the anger brewing online.

Modern Man According to Yasir Hussain?

Perhaps the most controversial element of Hussain’s remarks came when he described why, in his view, modern women are attracted to married men. He suggested that a man who is already managing a household, raising children, and owning a car represents an ideal partner. According to him, this perceived maturity and stability make married men more desirable.

Nadia Hussain Defends Husband Amid Fraud Allegations

Actress Nadia Hussain has publicly addressed the financial fraud charges against her husband, Atif Khan. In a recent podcast interview, she firmly defended him, stressing that accusations do not amount to proof of guilt.

“There are allegations against my husband that are yet to be proven. He is not guilty,” Nadia asserted.

When asked about the case and her husband’s arrest, she responded, “Around the world, a person is only guilty once allegations are proven. But here, people are declared guilty the moment accusations surface.”

She emphasized the importance of due process: “Anyone can make a claim. It must be proven in court. So far, that hasn’t happened. The decision belongs to the judge and the court — not social media.”

Nadia also confirmed that her husband is currently out on bail, although the process has faced complications that delayed the case. Denying any involvement in the alleged fraud, she said, “This matter is under investigation. With proper inquiry, God willing, justice will prevail.”

Reflecting on the emotional strain, she added, “This time has revealed who truly stands by me. Many I considered close turned out to be mere professional contacts.”

Still, she expressed confidence in the legal system: “I believe in the courts. And I think more names will surface as the case moves forward.”

Earlier, the Additional District and Sessions Judge (South) reserved a verdict on Atif Khan’s bail in a high-profile Rs530 million bank fraud case. The decision is expected on May 22.

Police allege that Atif misused Rs530 million from a private company’s CEO for personal business ventures.

Nadia Hussain also gave a statement to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), claiming no knowledge of the alleged fraud. She told investigators that her husband gave her money to start and grow her salon business, but she was unaware of its origins.

“My business is registered with the FBR, and the funds were listed as a loan in my tax returns,” she said.

The FIA is investigating Rs26.4 million in transfers from her husband’s accounts to her salon, made 19 times since 2019. While Nadia has been named a key beneficiary in the case, she maintains her innocence, insisting, “I was never part of any fraud.”

Khalilur Rehman Reveals Talk show Clash on ‘Taghoot’ was Scripted

Khalilur Rehman

Pakistani screenwriter and poet Khalilur-Rehman Qamar has made a startling claim regarding last year’s viral “Taghoot scandal,” stating that the controversial talk show confrontation was “pre-planned” and not spontaneous.

Speaking on a podcast this week, Qamar alleged that the televised clash between Islamic scholar Saahil Adeem and a female guest was orchestrated for dramatic effect.

The episode, aired in June 2024, had sparked nationwide debate over gender roles, religious authority, and freedom of expression.

Qamar claimed that the show’s producers intentionally staged the conflict to provoke public outrage and media attention. “It wasn’t an accident. The narrative was scripted to reach a certain climax,” he said.

According to Qamar, as soon as Saahil Adeem referred to women as ignorant, he was about to intervene to clarify that ignorance is not exclusive to women — he considers anyone who hasn’t read the Holy Quran with translation, whether male or female, to be ignorant.

However, before he could speak, a female participant interrupted, and the direction of the discussion took a sharp turn.

Khalilur-Rehman Qamar also expressed his astonishment at the woman’s demand for an apology from a scholar like Saahil Adeem.

In his view, everyone makes mistakes, but what triggered his anger was the perceived disrespect.

He stated that the entire incident clearly shows the producers’ intention was to create provocation and extract a specific type of reaction — and that they succeeded in doing so.

The programme, aired in June last year, featured Saahil Adeem making harsh remarks about women.

He claimed that if 100 women were surveyed, he would find 95% to be ignorant, obsessed only with makeup and TikTok, and unaware of fundamental Islamic concepts such as “Taghoot”.

In response, a participant named Azbah Abdullah protested against his statements and demanded an apology.

The situation quickly escalated into a heated exchange. Adeem questioned whether the young woman even knew the meaning of “Taghoot”. When she admitted she didn’t, he declared that this was precisely what ignorance was — and that she should accept it.

The argument didn’t stop there. The woman countered that the reason many women are deprived of knowledge is due to a patriarchal society, but Saahil Adeem disagreed, insisting that calling out ignorance is a religious obligation.

During the heated discussion, Qamar also lost his composure. He expressed anger at the young woman, stating that if listening to Arabic verses was painful for her, it was unacceptable. He then asked the host to cut her microphone — a moment that intensified the controversy.

The episode quickly went viral on social media. Now, nearly a year later, Qamar’s revelation that the entire incident was “scripted.
