Hasan Raheem Grants Wishes with Latest Track Featuring Talwiinder
Hasan Raheem, the Pakistani singer, has launched the official music video for his latest track, “Wishes.”
The song features Indian singer Talwiinder and is produced by Umair.
Initially released with a lyric video on September 2, “Wishes” is part of Raheem’s five-track EP titled “Maybe, It’s Love.”
Raheem reflects on a lost relationship in this poignant composition, seamlessly integrating into the contemporary indie pop and R&B scene. With lyrics recalling joyful moments and mistakes, “Wishes” presents an honest self-introspection, invoking familiar regrets often accompanying a breakup.
Hassan Raheem’s News Song Video
The music video actively acknowledges the liminal stage between loss and gradual acceptance, portraying visuals of Raheem, injured and suspended from a tree in paratrooper gear. This lack of momentum is juxtaposed with superimposed flashbacks depicting him riding a motorcycle, intermittently interrupted by blue and red flashes indicating an imminent road traffic accident. The monochromatic flashbacks maintain a 4:3 aspect ratio, emphasising the transition between timelines.
The superimposition replaces crosscutting, hinting at emotional turbulence and a disorienting bike crash. The solitary tree, bathed in stark sunlight amid the video’s darkness, suggests an otherworldly limbo. Will Raheem escape the vortex of guilt? The music video leaves the question unanswered.
